CareerJSM Unveils the World’s First Job Search Management Application at Launch Festival in San Francisco

San Francisco, California, March 4, 2016 – CareerJSM, the world’s first comprehensive job search management application founded by two Canadian entrepreneurs, launched on stage today at LAUNCH Festival. The festival, founded by serial entrepreneur Jason Calacanis, an early investor in Uber and Tumblr, is the largest startup conference in the world, with 15,000 attendees, four stages, and 250 speakers.

Startup alumni from the LAUNCH competition include Dropbox, Mint, FitBit, Red Beacon, Brilliant.org, Yammer, and 400 others.

CareerJSM allows job seekers to track and manage their job search across all hiring resources. Job seekers receive customized alerts, suggesting the next steps to take in the job search as well as recommended jobs to apply to. Founded by two graduates of McMaster University, Jeffrey Doucet and Tristan Toye were frustrated with the tools and resources provided to their peers when they graduated from university and entered the labour market.

The first release of the CareerJSM software, launching across Ontario, will be used by more than 70,000 registered users at twenty partner institutions.

“We look forward to integrating CareerJSM into our Magnet network, delivering their job search management features to over 70,000 registered users across the province of Ontario. CareerJSM’s tools reflect the process we have been emphasizing for students to engage in, tracking all of their activity and approaching the job search in a structured and strategic manner. We look forward to using the data derived from CareerJSM to drive decision making so that our institution and the broader post-secondary education sector can better understand job search trends and outcomes for our student population,” states Mark Patterson, Magnet Executive Director, Ryerson University.

“In the time that CareerJSM has spent in our Accelerator program, the co-founding team has secured key strategic partnerships with 20 Canadian University institutions and has garnered interest from the Silicon Valley investment community. L-SPARK provides support and mentorship that will guide SaaS entrepreneurs to opportunities such as the one today at LAUNCH Festival,” states Leo Lax, Managing Director, L-SPARK.

Over the next few months CareerJSM will begin their roll out to additional post-secondary institutions across North America.
