L-SPARK and Hub350 launch Living Lab Accelerator

Ottawa, ON, June 29, 2022 L-SPARK, Canada’s largest accelerator for Software as a Service (SaaS) companies, alongside Hub350 and the Kanata North Business Association (KNBA), today announced the inaugural cohort of their Hub350 Living Lab Accelerator program, created to help companies accelerate customer adoption and real-world deployment of next generation technology solutions within Canada’s largest technology hub.

An initiative driven by Hub350, the gateway to the Kanata North Tech Park, the Living Lab aims to showcase innovative digital transformation and/or 5G-enabled solutions with use cases from within the business park. The Living Lab targets new technologies that will have impacts across all verticals, including commercial, residential, education, health, entertainment, social, mobility and the environment.

As a way to engage startups in the Living Lab, Hub350 reached out to L-SPARK to create and run a targeted accelerator program. Through this four month accelerator program, the selected companies will work with a local  partner  to develop a demonstration or pilot project while also working toward the achievement of business objectives..

“L-SPARK is excited to partner with Hub350 on this unique opportunity to support the growth of emerging companies and showcase their innovative solutions in action right here in our own community”, says Leo Lax, Executive Managing Director at L-SPARK.

The Kanata North Technology Park is home to over 540 companies, representing multiple technology sectors..  With a mission to create a connected living lab community with mixed uses, next generation technology and a vibrant culture of collaboration, the opportunities for innovation will inspire a shared path forward in Kanata North’s endeavors to be a world-class destination for technology.

The companies that make up the first Hub350 Living Lab Accelerator cohort include:

  • Kirality provides fast, safe and reliable drone logistics services to transport a variety of goods, including first aid, in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way.
  • Teldio enables enterprises to easily and seamlessly connect people, systems, and equipment through automated workflows using a no-code integration platform.
  • HILO  is a rapid-deployment Workplace Engagement Platform for the hybrid world that connects people to buildings whether they are at work, at home, or anywhere in between.
  • thinkRF is revolutionizing wireless network monitoring and intelligence with real-time insights on the state of wireless technologies that characterize, optimize and protect vital radio frequency (RF) spectrum networks.

“These companies and their solutions are a great example of the diverse and innovative technologies being developed and implemented in Kanata North. Together with our partners and stakeholders, they are contributing to the vibrant culture of collaboration across Canada’s largest tech hub,” said Jamie Petten, Executive Director of the Kanata North Business Association. “We are looking forward to seeing these and other applications deployed and showcased as part of the Hub350 Living Lab as we build towards our shared vision of a complete and connected innovation community here in the Nation’s capital.”
